What are the points of the topic illiteracy leading to poverty in India?

There is a direct relationship between education and birth control. The higher the literacy rate, the lower the number of children per woman. If the balance between the resources and the population of the country is maintained, every person will get adequate food and financial assistance. Unemployment rate will be reduced and people will be able to live a prosperous life.

Illiteracy can be considered one of the many reasons for poverty. Or one can say that illiteracy pushes up poverty and vice versa.

Let's see how illiteracy causes poverty.

Consider a poor illiterate person say, X . As he is illiterate ,chances of him getting employment in formal sectors is slim. Consequently he'll be forced to work in the informal sector. As you might know in informal sectors there is no job security and the income is also merge  . Assume that he lives in a family of 5, thus his merge income will not be sufficient to fend for 5. This makes him poor.

Now assume that one of his family member suffers from an ailment which can be easily cured with proper treatment. But as he is illiterate he doesn't realize the importance of proper healthcare and hence ailment gets severe. The family member is taken to hospital only in the final stage and hence it would be quite expensive to treat. Thus he will be forced to borrow money. Further poverty.

Now he needs a loan for treatment of his family member. As he is illiterate he is more likely to take loan from nearby money lender rather than approaching bank. Hence there are chances of money lender exploiting him and charging high rates of interest. This can lead to indebtedness at one point ,further pushing him to poverty.

If X was literate ,he would have been able to get better employment, get better health facilities for his family, get loans at fair interest rates from banks, utilize government schemes to further improve his financial position and fight for his rights in case of exploitation. And with time his financial position would improve hence he can give good education to his children which in turn helps to pull the family out of poverty and lead a happy life for generations ahead.

It is people like X who constitute major chunk of India’s poor. Educating them can certainly help to tackle the issue of poverty in India.
